Equipment not purchased by you must be returned to Shaw if any of your services are cancelled. Sounds like your complaints have more to do with Cloud PVR.I have the Shaw Gateway PVR, not the Shaw BlueCurve PVR.But, my Shaw-provided remote-control for the Gateway has 4 buttons on the top row, and the right-most button is labelled "I have Fibre+ 300 & Total TV.
But for the most part I have always been happy with the newest versions and platforms Shaw puts out. Presumably, your TV has multiple HDMI inputs (one for the Gateway, and one connected to the Chromecast), and you need to "switch" your TV between HDMI #1 and HDMI #2.When you refer to “wired cable” are you talking about the Shaw legacy gear or Blue Curve Wired. That interface was difficult to see and the harddrive kept losing recordings.>Almost like what happened when you turned contrast down or picture quality down on old TV's and got a less vivid/dull/hazy picture.Funny, I always felt the TELUS Optik platform looked that way - fuzzy.
Problem solved.> I guess having the signal over the internet simply can not compete??
So, I don't have access to Shaw's "Cloud PVR". You must be signed in to add attachments It does not connect with Chrome Cast, I would normally use this to get to streaming sites not supported with the Gateway like Disney+. But for the most part I have always been happy with the newest versions and platforms Shaw puts out. Try some troubleshooting and experimenting and contact Shaw. However, there's simply not the same crispness of picture (if you have a good TV you will notice the picture is like comparing a poor TV's 720p quality (B Curve) to a great TV's 4k in the gateway...and often actually worse!) Same hardware and specs as before. I have been informed that I need to do two steps, pg up and pg down to go to live tv.Exact same issue as number one. From what I understand, BlueCurve is BlueSky with wireless (Cable) boxes and your recordings are stored on the cloud vs BlueSky is like the Gateway before it, local wired boxes shares recording from one local PVR box to the other. I am not getting pixellation or other issues reported here, system is working fine, and internet signal strength is excellent.
I have Fibre+ 300 & Total TV.
Same hardware and... Try some t... I know this seems a small thing but I find it very frustrating. -- 1.
I really miss the live button but will put up with the pg up and pg down. You shouldn’t be compromising picture quality. But, my Shaw-provided remote-control for the Gateway has 4 buttons on the top row, and the right-most button is labelled "Live". Switched to BCurve from Gateway, and though I like the feature set of the wireless 4k boxes, the picture quality is NOT the same at all. Shaw offers a wired 4K version of the Blue Curve boxes if you aren’t happy with the Xi6 wireless boxes.
Twenty five years with Shaw, days and hours of headaches and life lost to holding on calls, and I still can't get a system in my home's that is THOUGHT OUT and delivers proper functionality!Almost like what happened when you turned contrast down or picture quality down on old TV's and got a less vivid/dull/hazy picture.I'm wondering if I can live with this for it's features when Gateway system is FAR superior for quality. I could watch two games, pausing when a commercial started, got to the other which would resume and keep doing that. Perhaps I want to restart the show and am at 45 min, it won't let me go far enough back. DOCSIS 3.1 Compatible The BlueCurve Gateway is Shaw's first DOCSIS 3.1 gateway, paving the way for future speed and network capacity requirements. The old cable box allowed for 2 hours. If your offer includes BlueCurve TV equipment with wireless 4K players, a maximum of five (5) TVs can be connected, requiring five (5) BlueCurve TV Players. I have the Shaw Gateway PVR, not the Shaw BlueCurve PVR. Blue Curve is a rebranding of BlueSky.
