Aside from some interviews with actual participants, this is no more than a fictionalized rendition, with a touch of reality, spun towards the direction of a "documentary".
Why are people so easily led astray? He eventually convinces his flock to leave friends, family, jobs, homes, and all finances to move to Guiana. Other times were narrated and commented like a documentary. It was interesting to heard people who survived the events.
