nah not really, it is near the limit of max temp and it can make your cpu throttle and also for sure it is really bad for long term usage. @Lim_4_ your suggestion works man the temp drop now playing on 75-80C while gaming , but is there a consequence when my fan is rotating 75%-100% when gaming? went from 85-90c to 70-74c while playing a demanding game.
temp with stock cooler should be around 60C. thx in advance You can usually tell if your CPU is overheating, because it will keep on rebooting.
are 70-93 (max fan speed is ON).
For a better experience, please enable JavaScript in your browser before proceeding. I had temps close to 95c with stock cooler only when running CB20 multi core benchmark. Normal tasks such as browsing etc should render temperatures around 40-50 C with the occasional spike. qwer123asdf : Is this true? That's understandable to someone like me. i suggest you to use that laptop on hard surface so it can cool components properly, get a vacuum fan cooler or cooling pad to help it cool down, and if you can do some disassembly and have no problem with doing dat, you can re-apply the thermal paste with the better one, also if you want to tweak the config a bit, you can do down volt which is reducing the volt a bit(vary on every processor) using intel extreme tuning utility and make the processor make a bit less heatSounds like you may be gaming on it for too long a spell. I have a intel i7 7970 and while im gaming it goes to 77 degrees normally, I do have a stock fan and i have recently applied thermal paste, is this in urgent need of sorting or can this be okay. It's been a year, and laptop's still working fine & dandy.
if you spend 20 quid on one it will be good i have an Acer Aspire F15 F5-573G-780B thx in advance
It shouldn't be more than 40 for normal tasks unless the laptop is really thin or it has a desktop cpu in a small chassis.
I know i may want to stream in future and that sometimes raises it even more, Dad tells me that the CPU will very rarely damage as the newer models are built to last and even if it gets too much it will just throttle. I recently bought a new Corsair Tower PC from PC Specialist and its CPU is water-cooled. Forums
90 is high for the games you are playing. You should worry if it clears 90°C.

SUB: Too high CPU temperatures while gaming (95°-97°C) Just got this new Omen laptop, It's been one month since I bought this laptop and the normal or idle CPU temperatures are around 57°-60°C. What settings are you using?
For my laptop i undervolted and disabled Turbo boost and as a result my CPU temp. for example in the long run.
by 15-20 degrees so now while gaming temps are around 75-85 degrees C. There is no temperature throttling nor power throttling so this is an improvement.
my CPU heat sink was have some dust so it was block the air that coming from CPU fan and problem is you most use powerful Air blower that can remove this dust without letting fans or cpu fan moving like u have to stop it by ur hand and don't closer your Air blower to ur PC parts so after i remove that cursed dust my cpu temps back to 45c Idle and while gaming is 60c to 65c and i feel safe now this is just a 2 months old laptop tho
I prefer to keep mine around 28-32 idle and 50-55 under load despite having a 100° threshold. you could download throttlestop and undervolt your cpu, apply new thermal paste, and disable turbo boost if its not an issue for you. qwer123asdf : For gaming I would aim to get around 60 - 70 for both cpu and gpu as that allows the laptop to perform well in summers. I alleviated this by undervolting my CPU by -0,150 V and it reduced temp.
GE62 (my lappy) and GE72 isn't differing much in cooler design, at least by pictures shown, so I hope this helps. I'm not sure what temperatures others are getting and if it is normal or not but while gaming both the CPU and the GPU temperature spikes upto 97° and 87°C respectively.
It can easily play any game currently out there. I know i may want to stream in future and that sometimes raises it even more, Dad tells me that the CPU will very rarely damage as the newer models are built to last and even if it gets too much it will just throttle. Only when you load all cores you might see temps climb to 95c.
I had the same issue as you when my laptop's CPU went up to 90c. I would look on PC Specialst's website to see what PC suits you, according to your needs and budget.i think 80 or less is the ideal temp.
