As I got older and chicken, I stayed out of the water for swimming but I did go in but never past my knees ( grin) ! Spring. The warmest lake I encounter on 7 separate lakes, was Lake Okanagon at 76, Shushwaps were 74, Wood Lake 75.My wife has been doing water samples in the West Arm of Kootenay Lake for a local group over the past few years. All my kids swam in Kootenay lake as well and now they sit beside me on the beach watching their kids ( my grand kids) swim.With the warmer temps this spring / summer all the lakes are warmer earlier than usual. He says that the west arm of Kootenay lake is the warmest it has ever been even in August that he can remember.
