I was fishing a small lake north of Cochrane in 1999 with them and there was a group of guys going into what the outfitter called Stringer lake. Time was 3:00pm and just one hour into our trip.Blue sky 5:30am Grant wake-up slumbering into a gooey delicious French toast and sausage breakfast, the morn air was sticky hot and outhouse door in full swing. The Lake I fished in 1999 with Polar Bear Outfitters he called Yesterday lake but I see Cochrane Air owns the camp there now and they say its called Bounce Lake. Carl and I heard him yelling from the other side of the bay and just had to race over to end our trip on his note.Thumbs up and thanks guys, we’ll have another go again I’m sure… and thanks as well Maurice and Christine of True North Air Service. Our best guess, it was one of those elbowed spinnerbaits (not looped) and he just shredded the blades and clevises right off the top of the lure. © Canada Fishing Guide Kesagami wilderness lodge | General Discussion | ForumKesagami wilderness lodge | General Discussion | ForumCalling fishing a hobby is like calling brain surgery a job.Calling fishing a hobby is like calling brain surgery a job.Calling fishing a hobby is like calling brain surgery a job.Calling fishing a hobby is like calling brain surgery a job.mahomes, Brad.Holden, guoos, Grubber, Lewt, Neskins0, Fishnhunt, kennedyterry074@gmail.comAdam Dempsey: 435, chris.brock: 464, Scott Mills: 152, rsiminski: 29 Even the photos of the SW Kesagami outpost looks like the outpost Ron Barron operated on Partridge. But Partridge is next to Edgar a bit further north. The camps look really similar. Shallow (averaging 7 feet), stained and rimmed with weedy bays, Kesagami is home to an inestimable number of pike over 40 inches (20 lb) and world-class fish measuring 50 inches (30 lb). We stayed on Partridge and only had one day where we could not get out on Kesagami due to an east wind and rough water. I'm very familiar with it, I guided there many years ago.Clearly it's still a decent fishery, but it's nowhere near what it was in its glory days. But it’s no snag.
Its very open so if you get some wind there really is no place to hide especially if you are accessing Kesagami from the partridge lake camp. On the Lindner TV show they talked up on how they were there for big pike, but never caught any. Our reels rested still in hand, we hoped to soon sting our first pike when we set off on a troll.… “only minutes after the lines were down I get a snag.
With this perfect weather day the plan was we head over to the 20 kilometer long Newnham Bay and I safely show the fellas for just one day of the trip this immense section of the lake. Anyway I do recall him expressing his frustration over the loss of this camp. That makes sense and I thought that might be the case. Knowing that people might still be around we slowed our pace to Newnham and then planned to set off in different directions for the morning and meet up later. New renovations, hard work, a crazy tinny trip down the Kesagami River with lumber and supplies, business roadblocks, but the perseverance to surpass that all, to an attentive ear it was an interestingly fun beginning for what I was feeling would ultimately lead to this report.Carl and Grant took no time accepting when an invite was sent their way.
It was by far my biggest loss to date.”That pike remained for the longest time, in my mind, the heaviest and largest pike I had ever hooked on soft water.
Sun breaking the clouds, calm and humid southwest breezes were waiting for us at the dock.Midday a little birdy sent word that Mike was lighting up the joint and had already smoked nearly a dozen quality slime darts.
The second boat was fine and needed just some bailing, but both had flipped the 2.5 gallon tanks and that gas had been mixed with water. Guess we weren’t welcome.
We laughed a tonne over childhood stories and spoke of trips to come. Im Südosten hat er eine 20 km lange schmale Nebenbucht, Newnham Bay, in welche der Kesagami River mündet.
They completely turned off. In addition to the Pike fishing Kesagami is absolutely loaded with eater sized walleye. We skipped the Grocery Store.Always bittersweet the final day. 6 talking about this. I saw a lot of very big pike on that trip that followed my lure to the boat and would not commit. Quite an interesting personality.I've heard lots of stories over the years about him. They give these unnamed lakes there own name and never show you where they are on a map. By noon once reaching Kesagami the lake was capping offshore of the cache but we set out anyways in hopes of finding sheltered waters.Carl and I worked at it in the south remaining out for the rest of the day.
Mike followed me, for I had a date with an old monster. The natural beauty of the area, the unspoiled, pristine environment, fresh air, unpolluted waters, abundant wildlife, serenity, solitude and quality time with family and friends make staying at Kesagami a memorable experience.
