People is on Community! Most of my CP friends are quick to make jokes about their gimpy issues because it gives all of you permission to relax. Do yourself a favor and read this, especially if it's not something that you'd go for normally! He also hosted the shows Have A Little Faith for Rainn Wilson's media company SoulPancake, and Riding Shotgun and Workout Wednesdays on his own YouTube channel, which has over 8 million hits. People.com You'll get the latest updates on this topic in your browser notifications. Yay! If at Birth You Don't Succeed is a hilariously irreverent and heartfelt memoir about finding your passion and your path even when it's paved with epic misadventure. Do yourself a favour and read this book.
I will be watching his videos on YouTube. This funny and touching memoir by comedian Zach Abner helps readers better understand some of the issues faced by people with physical disabilities. As a Rooster Teeth fan, I only knew that the author made me laugh. Life with CP isn't always easy, but we deal with life's bumps just like you. I have never felt more understood in my life. I had a hard time getting through it for no good reason.Truthfully, I didn't really love Zach Anner's memoir. Probably with a lot more good humor. But there comes a point where the line has been crossed in my personal comfort level in crudeness. Zach tells an out of order but quite compelling story of his life (so far), including having to drop out of high school, winning a travel show from Oprah, finally getting a girlfriend, and just generally making sense of life with cerebral palsy, the sexiest of the palsies. He writes with wit, warmth aZach Anner has wrriten a tender, laugh-out-loud funny, coming of age tale of a man determined to be defined by more than his disability. Zach lives in Buffalo, NY and Austin, TX, and spends most of his spare time in his underwear, thinking about how he can change the world.“Laughing at somebody is just another way of dismissing them, but laughing with somebody is a bridge to understanding.”“I maintained my steady post-breakfast diet of air, which is more substantial in LA because of the smog. !Zach (with an H) Anner brought his story to life with one of the most comedic, heart-warming recounts that I've ever read. (Not specific, just an example.) Zach engages with important and sometimes tough topics and elements of the disabled experience in a lighthearted manner that evokes empathy and warmth rather than pity, which as a disabled reader I found refreshing and incredibly important.Sadly this book was too crude for me to finish. Besides that, I loved this book. Considering himself “the runt of the romantic litter,” he yearns to woo Hilariously funny and uplifting, Anner “seizes not just my moments but my mistakes” to craft a life crowded with fans, love and Internet fame, reminding us that disability is no match for dreams.
